Information For New Starters

Welcome to our School! We look forward to meeting you soon.

This page is full of information for those due to start with us in the near future.

Upon starting with us, you will receive a welcome pack containing all the below information and other additional information.

Your child will also receive a book bag & water bottle. Both of these are free of charge, however, if you need to replace them at any time, book bags are £5 and water bottles are £2.50. New water bottle lids are free of charge.

Timings of the School Day

You can bring your child into the school playground after 8.30am.  All Reception children need to be dropped off at their classroom door between 8.45am and 8.50am.  This helps to ensure that the day starts promptly and that the children feel safe.  Please say your goodbyes quickly, even if it seems really hard and your child is reluctant to leave you. Tears rarely last long after you have gone. If you are worried that your child may still be unhappy after you have left, please phone us and we will be able to let you know how they are.

The school day finishes at 3:20pm, and children will be seen out by their teachers and teaching assistants on the playground. Children will not be allowed to leave until an adult has arrived to collect them (If your child is going home with someone different from usual, please let us know by midday).

The school gates are locked at 9:00am to ensure the school site is secured. The gates are reopened again from 3pm. Access to the school between these times may only be made via the main reception entrance accessible via School Street.

Lunchtimes

During our lunchtimes we operate various different sittings between 11:45am and 1:00pm. For Reception, Year 1 & Year 2, hot school lunches are free. (You can find more information about this by clicking here).

If your child would rather have a packed lunch, we would ask you to provide only 3 healthy items. This supports our teaching of a healthy lifestyle and ensures the children still have plenty of time to eat their lunch and go out to play.

We provide water throughout the day, so there is no need to send in any additional drinks. If your child is having a packed lunch, please provide a named beaker for your child in their lunch box.

Fruit

We are fortunate to be part of the governments fruit scheme initiative. This enables all of our children to have a free piece of fruit every day at school, served as a mid morning snack.

Milk

Milk should be ordered by parents through Cool Milk. It is paid for half termly in advance. Milk is still free for children under 5 years of age, but it still needs to be ordered by a parent.
