Dunchurch Infant School & Nursery

Joining our Nursery

Children can be admitted to our nursery at the start of the term in which they turn three years old.

We have two nursery rooms, which can accomodate 24 children each during any one session.

You can find out more about Dunchurch Nursery’s learning and activities by clicking the link below.

Our Nursery has been over-subscribed over the past couple of years, so we recommend registering your interest as early as possible. Please click on the link below to download the forms to register your child with us.

Once your child turns 3 years old (dependent on when their birthday is), you can claim up to 15 hours per week of free childcare through Government Nursery Education Funding. You can find out more by clicking here.

Please note, all of our places are allocated strictly in accordance with our Nursery Admissions policy. Please click here to view this.

Dunchurch Nursery currently charges for any child not eligible for the Nursery Education Funding, and any sessions booked for Children outside of those covered by the nursery grant. You can find information about these charges by clicking the link below.

Our Basis of Charging and Current Fee Structure ( from September 2016)

Children are not required to wear a uniform to nursery, however we do sell Dunchurch Nursery jumpers (£7) and t-shirts (£4.50), should you wish your child to wear them. These are available at our Nursery.

We do encourage play & learning in our outside area on a daily basis, so wellies are always welcome (although we do have some for the children to borrow if necessary).

We also do P.E. on Monday afternoons & Wednesday mornings, and we encourage the children to take responsibility for taking off their own shoes and socks. We are always grateful if parents could help us by sending children in shoes and socks which are easy for the children to remove themselves on these days, to help us facilitate this.

All Nursery children are subject to a lunchtime session fee, whether they have a hot lunch or a packed lunch (please see the link above for our fee structure).

If your child would rather have a packed lunch, we would ask you to provide only 3 healthy items. This supports our teaching of a healthy lifestyle and ensures the children still have plenty of time to eat their lunch and go out to play.

We provide water throughout the day, so there is no need to send in any additional drinks. If your child is having a packed lunch, please provide a named beaker for your child in their lunch box.

We ask you give us a full half term’s notice if you wish to change your child’s meal pattern. Please click here to see some examples of our hot lunch menus.

We are fortunate to be part of the governments fruit scheme initiative. This enables all of our children to have a free piece of fruit every day at school, served as a mid morning/mid afternoon snack.

Nursery children are all provided with milk, there is no need for Nursery parents to order it or provide it. If your child has an allergy to dairy, please discuss this with us.

We encourage people who are interested in registering for our nursery, or those who have been offered a place and are due to start, to visit our Nursery and see us in action. Our Nursery Manager, Mrs Natalie Herbert can be contacted on 01788 810292, should you wish to arrange a visit.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any further queries about joining our Nursery.
